In July 2018 the Subsonix Dragon Boat club travelled to Szeged Hungary to compete in the 2018 World Club Crew Championships. Subsonix competed with 146 clubs from 24 countries in the 7 day event. The event was held in the beautiful city of Szeged from July 17th to July 22nd. That was the first time Subbies had qualified and competed at the Club Crew World Championships overseas and is the product of our performance at the Australian Nationals in Adelaide and Albury NSW.
Please follow our social media pages to stay up to date on other exciting events.
Now is a great time to join the club, after an intense season last year this season the club will be focusing on new paddler development. Come give it a try, you’ll meet some wonderful people and get to spend an hour on the beautiful West Lakes.
Is your company looking for a team building event that your employees will get excited about?
The team did very well in the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Carnival. Subsonix mixed 10’s team achieved a bronze medal in the 200 mtr race on the first day of racing. Up against some stiff (and younger) competition.
Second day it was the ladies turn to bring home a bronze medal in the PowerSonix composite team. Again no mean feat, up against the Singapore National team and with only 16 ladies in the boat. Alli B did a fantastic job sweeping in challenging waters.
We are extremely proud of ourselves, the team and our club. We have formed new friendships with our interstate and local ring in’s from, Black Dragons, Water Warriors, Powerblades, Albury Braveheart’s, Broadwater and Manly Dragons and thank them immensely for their support.
The racing completed with the Celebration dinner with the entire team (squad of 40) taking part and opening the cultural performance, needless to say we had a blast.
3 Course Dinner, Live Music to celebrates SADA’s 15 year anniversary. Great opportunity to have some team fun and mix with our Dragon Boat Community.
